SUICIDE PREVENTION RESOURCES
National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (800-273-TALK)
Call 1-800-273-8255 or visit their website for on-line resources. You will be connected to the closest possible crisis center in your area. The Lifeline provides 24/7, free and confidential support for people in distress, prevention and crisis resources for you or your loved ones, and best practices for professionals.

ONE80 PLACE
(843) 723-9477. One80 Place, formerly Crisis Ministries, provides nightly shelter and re-housing assistance to move people out of homelessness. Men’s shelter has 60 beds. The transitional housing has 40 bedr for male veterans and 10 overflow cots due to extreme weather. Family Center holds 30 beds for women and families. 7 transitional beds for female veterans.
CRISIS MINISTRIES MEN’S SHELTER
(843)723-9477. Men’s Shelter with 70 beds, 14 transitional housing beds for male Veterans and 20 overflow cots during extreme weather conditions.
STAR GOSPEL MISSION
(843) 722-2473. The Star Gospel Mission is Charleston’s oldest not-for-profit Christian welfare organization serving the homeless and needy in the community since 1904. We provide transitional housing for homeless men and respond to the needs of the community by offering food, clothing, rental assistance, utility assistance, emergency medical and transportation assistance. We provide help to the needy by responding to their temporal needs and by sharing the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with those who are seeking a spiritual transformation in their lives. Our principal response is to homeless men who are working, or who have a steady source of income, such as: veterans, or those who are disabled or who may be receiving unemployment.
THE BEACON
843-266-5200. For homeless and runaway youth up to age 18. Provides shelter, meals, hygiene products, clothing and counseling for youth staying at shelter. Free transportation is available in the Charleston area.
