Local author Joseph Bauer will be in the J McLaughlin store at Freshfields to sign his books, including his latest novel Sailing for Grace, released in late 2024 by Running Wild Press. The event is a J McLaughlin ‘Sip n Shop’ day hosted by the store to benefit local non-profit and charitable organizations. The company will donate 10% of all sales made during the event from 11-4 to Barrier Islands Free Medical Clinic.
Indigo books, the long-time book seller in Freshfields Village, will supply the books (to be purchased in the clothing store) and will also donate 10% of its sales revenues that day on Mr. Bauer’s novels to the Clinic. Joseph Bauer, formerly of Seabrook Island, now lives in The Golf Club of Briar Creek on Johns Island. Sailing for Grace is his fourth novel, following The Accidental Patriot, The Patriot’s Angels, and Too Good to Be True.
Barrier Islands Free Medical Clinic is a free clinic in Charleston, SC, that provides free medical care to uninsured adults across Charleston, Dorchester and Berkeley counties.
